Message #231 Date: Mon, 07 Sep 1998 14:38:33 Subject: PGM Seeks Volunteers [ AzTeC / SWA SASIG ] : From: Toby Stahl tstahl@swsvideo.com Do you have a few hours a month that you could spare? Then Pueblo Grande needs you!! The profits from the Museum Store go to the Pueblo Grande Museum (PGM) Auxiliary. The revenue is used to fund many of the projects that are needed but are not included in the City budget. Volunteers are necessary to run the store so we will not lose this valuable source of income. If you can help please call Lynne at 495-0901 or 244-1275. Our Docent program provides visitors and school groups with tour guides. The goal is to furnish a Docent to any group that requests one. We need weekday Docents to work with our school groups and weekend Docents to provide tours for the drop-in visitors. New Docents go through a training program and then follow senior Docents until they feel comfortable and can start giving their own tours. Please remember educating the public is the way to insure the preservation of this site. If you would like to learn more about these programs, please join us for a Southwestern dinner and entertainment by Drew LaCapa an Apache Comedian and inspiring interpretations of women's dances by Shalu, a Pima-Sioux from the Gila River Indian Community. This event will take place on September 12th at 6:30pm at Pueblo Grande. Call the Museum at 495-0901 to reserve seats.
