The conference theme is inspired by the State of California's Sesquicentennial commemoration, which coincides with 150 years of the Chinese American experience in California. The conference will include panels and papers on the history of the Chinese American experience; archeological findings and historic preservation, films, video, and literature; Chinese Americans in different fields, improving the image, and meeting the challenge of the new millennium. Accommodations and meals for the entire conference are available at the University of San Diego. There are reasonable living accommodations on the campus and all meals are included. The first day (Friday) of the conference will consist of registration, a plenary session, and a reception at the Chinese Historical Museum in downtown San Diego. Sessions will continue all day Saturday followed by a Chinese banquet, and end early Sunday afternoon. Bring your family and Spend some additional time in and around the beautiful city of San Diego. The Chinese Historical Society of San Diego invites you to submit your proposals for scholarly papers, entire panels, panel presentations, workshops, film, video, or other relevant works for consideration at the conference.
