 February ARPA Training

The February 1998 offering of the Federal Law Enforcement
Training Center's (FLETC) Archeological Resources Protection
Training Program (ARPTP) will be hosted by the National Park
Service at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The session will
be held at the Super 8 Motel at 704 Nevada in Boulder City,
Nevada, which is approximately one-half hour south of Las Vegas.
A block of lodging rooms for the class will be reserved at the
Super 8 at the local federal government lodging rate. The phone
number for the hotel is 702-294-8888. The training will begin
at 8:00 AM on Monday, February 9, and conclude by 11:30 AM on
Friday, February 13. All federal and tribal law enforcement
officers, attorneys, archaeologists, and specialists in related
fields (e.g. curators, historians, etc.) are eligible to attend
ARPTP. Also eligible are all state and local law enforcement
officers, attorneys, archaeologists, and specialists in related
fields. Arrangements to attend the class should be made as
follows: federal employees should contact their agency law
enforcement organizations; tribal employees should contact the
Indian Police Academy at Artesia, New Mexico; and state and
local goverment employees should contact the Class Cordinator
Woody Jones at FLETC in Glynco, Georgia at 912-267-3042. The
tuition fee for the class depends on size but usually does not
exceed $250. This is expected to be a large class so the fee
should be lower. If you have questions about this class or
future 1998 offerings of ARPTP, please contact Woody Jones at
FLETC or Martin McAllister at the e-mail address shown above or
by phone in Missoula, Montana at 406-728-7195.
