James McBride will speak on
the "Walnut Grove Dam Disaster." The dam was built in the
1890's to impound water for hydraulic mining in the Bradshaw
Mountains. The dam's demise caused the greatest loss of life
of any dam collapse in Arizona.

Brian -- James McBride asked me to thank you for announcing his
upcoming talk on the Walnut Grove Dam. I saw the announcement and
let him know that the Buckeye Valley Museum has some artifacts
from the dam site and photos of the area in 1954. He came out to
the museum Saturday. ]
