The Scottsdale Corral of Westerners presents Jerry Mayberry
Wednesday February 25 at Monti's (Tempe at the Mill Ave Bridge)
Social Hour 6:15pm, Dinner at 7:00 pm

Jerry Mayberry is a member of the American Society of Arms
Collectors. His research on the Sharps rifle in Montana led
to further research on the Battle of Adobe Walls, Texas.

The Battle of Adobe Walls took place at the Bent Brothers
trading post in 1874. The post, located north of Amarillo,
served Anglo hunters in the area. Approximately 400-600
Indians attacked the 28 Anglos in the trading post. This
event is considered the beginning of the Red River War and the
beginning of the end of free Indians in Texas.
