I am working on a study of bedrock mortars and so far have found
only scant mention of them in the literature on Southwestern
archaeology. Do you or any of your correspondents know of published
research on bedrock mortars and metates? It does not have to be
restricted to Southwestern archaeology.

Try the www search word 'cupule' and you will find references
to bedrock mortars and cupule stones.....
