Excavate the Hoko Rockshelter

This page uses frames, so if you don't have a frames capable browser,
please visit Netscape and download a copy of their latest browser. Within
this web page you will find hundreds of images from the 1981 to 1989
excavation. These images have been arranged according to depth. The left
frame contains the location identification and the depth in meters. The
distance between each level is 0.05M or 5 centimeters. The right frame
contains a HTML document that has the image, several icons, and North,
East, South, West directions so you can move around the site at the depth
you choose. At the bottom of the right frame you will find several icons
that are links. The "gopher" will link you to information about the
excavators. The "magnifing glass" will bring a close up of the level you
are looking at so that you may more closely examine the artifacts. You will
also be able to closely examine the artifacts by clicking on the area
within the image. On the images that we have close ups of, imagemaps will
be made. You also have the ability to look at the profile of the square you
are digging. Follow to view the North, East, South, or West stratigraphic
layers. As with anything electronic, the best way to learn it is to try it.
Please click on the links to view an imagemap of the site. Please send all
questions and comments to Matt Barclay .
