I will be conducting a 3 week rock art archaeological/ethnographic field
school this summer, but the location falls outside your defined SWA
boundaries, even though the art (in this case predominantly petroglyphs)
is topically "Southwest". THE location is the Dry Fork Canyon in
northeastern Utah, near the town of Vernal. The petroglyphs are a mix of
Classic Vernal Style Freemont, some Kokopellis, and many shield bearing
warriors possibly of Plains influence. If you feel that this research is
appropriate to SWA, I would like to post a notice advertising the field
school and research project.
