The first meeting of the AAS Havasu Chapter following the Summer Siesta
will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday September 11, at the BLM Field Office, Lake
Havasu City Arizona. The theme for the meeting will be "What I Did on My
Summer Vacation". Members of the Havasu Chapter have had an interesting and
varied summer of Teaching - College for Kids, The Pecos Conference and
ARARA Conference, field schools and P.I.T. Projects all over the U.S. This
should make for quite an evening of "show & tell." We will also discuss the
opening of the field season at Swansea and our continuing building survey.
Other projects will include recording sites and field checking some that
seem to suffer from a geographic challenge (politically correct for lost).
We have two requests of other chapters. If your President has an E-mail
address please publish it next month. Second, those of you who are blessed
by living near the center of things and have video taped speakers or have
that sort of material please (1) let me know and (2) borrow it. Out here at
the end of the road we have some difficulty attracting guest speakers. The
Havasu Chapter meets at 7:00 P.M. the second Thursday of each month at the
BLM Havasu Field Office. For additional information call or E-mail Mike
Riddle @ (520) 855-6836 or mriddle@juno.com
