The maps that I have of west Texas are maps of surface geology and
structure at a scale of 1:24,000.  They show a great deal of detail, and
were originally compiled for both oil and minerals
exploration, but they would also be excellent data sources for
environmental, hydrologic, and archaeological investigations.  They were
originally proprietary data, but all of the confidentiality requirements
have since expired and they can be released to interested parties with no
restrictions.

The mapping was done using a combination of aerial photographs and field
examinations, and is the only data of its kind for this area.  All field
and airphoto data were transferred to the USGS 7.5-minute base maps for
easy use.

The following quadrangles are available in whole or in part:
