Message #304: From: AzTeC SW Archaeology SIG To: "'Matthias Giessler'" Subject: Current Research -- Southwest Date: Mon, 16 Sep 96 14:40:00 MST Encoding: 31 TEXT Current Research -- Southwest [ American Antiquity Style, but NOT American Antiquity ] As you know, SWA http://www.swanet.org/sasig.html uses the SASIG to distribute via e-mail current events information on southwestern archaeology, anthropology and history. The SASIG is a good service, but it doesn't quite do what American Antiquity did with it's former 'Current Research' section. SWA is contemplating a new web area for 'Current Research -- Southwest'. The Current Research area would be different from the SASIG current events area. SWA expects to emulate a known style ( the American Antiquity approach); an electronic version has two advantages: 1. 'SWA Current Research -- Southwest' will be timely and available often 2. 'SWA Current Research -- Southwest' will have room for great detail in an electronic version We seek an Editor to shape, mold, and imprint their professional knowledge and intellectual character on the new SWA service. If you would like to serve as the Editor for 'SWA Current Research -- Southwest', please e-mail SWA in confidence. Tell us about your archaeological expertise, editorial skills, on-line capabilities, and how you would want to structure the content, timing and periodicity of the CR web page. The position is a volunteer position (no pay).
