The study area, a cultural boundary for Cohonina, Kayenta Anasazi, and Sinagua prehistoric peoples, holds sites dating between AD 900 and 1100. The area is on the edge of the San Francisco volcanic field and adjacent to Sunset Crater. Fieldschool participants will stay at a primitive forest camp located 25 mi north of Flagstaff.
