The Arizona Archaeological Society and Jane Kolber will be offering a
Rock Art Recording Fieldschool at Deadman Wash, Coconino National
Forest, AZ, June 7-14, 1997. The study area, a cultural boundary for
Cohonina, Kayenta Anasazi, and Sinagua prehistoric peoples, holds sites
dating between AD 900 and 1100. The area is on the edge of the San
Francisco volcanic field and adjacent to Sunset Crater.  Fieldschool
participants will stay at a primitive forest camp located 25 mi north of
Flagstaff.  Membership in the Arizona Archaeological Society is required
to attend the fieldschool.  Registration fees are $75.  For more
