Message #361: From: AzTeC SW Archaeology SIG To: "'Matthias Giessler'" Subject: Mexican War Data in Special Collections at UT Arlington Date: Sun, 03 Nov 1996 23:14:46 -0700 Encoding: MIME-Version: 1.0 From: Sally Gross The University of Texas at Arlington Libraries has one of the best collections in the U.S. on the Mexican American War. The other excellent collection would be at the Bieneke Library at Yale. Our concentration is primarily on printed material (books, maps, broadsides (U.S. and Mexican), newspapers (U.S. and Mexican), Congressional documents, sheet music and graphics) supplemented by manuscript material. In 1995 Texas A&M Press published a guide to our collection entitled: The Mexican American War of 1846-1848: a bibliography of the holdings of the Libraries, The University of Texas at Arlington. Unfortunately the book only shows our holdings to June, 1991, when the manuscript was completed. You can search our on-line catalog through the UTA Web site (a href=http://www.uta.edu/library/>http://www.uta.edu/library/). The catalog will list all the books and Congressional documents. The maps, broadsides, sheet music and graphics are only available through manual catalogs.
