"WHO'S MINDING THE PAST?" is a one-hour documentary promoting cultural
resource preservation, volunteerism, cooperation with other cultures, and
partnerships. It is designed to involve viewers in interesting stories of
the past while teaching them what cultural resources are, why they should be
protected, and how to get involved in preservation efforts. Besides viewing
for pleasure, this presentation can be used in three ways: to recruit
volunteers for archaeology projects, to promote cultural resource
preservation, or to teach history. A Facilitator Guide, which is now being
written, will be available for those who wish to use the presentation in the
classroom. It will provides historical perspective, objectives, discussion
topics, test items, answer keys, bibliography, recommendations for further
reading, a list of contact organizations, and other useful information to
help instructors provide background and context for the video. The tape is
available now at cost for $28.50 including shipping. The Facilitator Guide
will cost $19.95 plus postage. For ordering information, call
