Albuquerque Archaeological Society Field Trip to Cebolla Canyon, Saturday
June 1, 1996. 

The AAS will visit 320 acres of BLM land at the mouth of Cebolla Canyon. 
This area is not generally accessible to the public.  Several sites will 
be visited during the field trip.  Led by BLM archaeologist Tony Luttonsky, 
the caravan departs at 7am from the Sheraton Hotel in Old Town, then 
travels west on I-40 to the junction of Hwy 117 and the site of the BLM 
Museum (approx. 5 mi east of Grants NM).

New Mexico Heritage Preservation Alliance is Formed

The New Mexico Heritage Preservation Alliance, a policy forum, is supported
by individual members and such organizations as the Sierra County Historical 
Society, the Dona Ana County Historical Society, the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, 
and El Rancho de Golondrinas, among others. The president is Thomas Merlan, 
former NM State Historic Preservation Officer.  The next meeting of the 
Alliance will be June 1 in Silver City.  For more information, write to
