Please pass along this information to developers, real-estate and utilities 
personnel, and non-archaeologists who have a need to develop a basic 
understanding of historic preservation issues in Arizona.

Arizona Governmental Training Service (AGTS) is offering a course titled: 
"From the Archaeological Site To the Construction Site."  This one-day 
seminar will provide advice to developers, real-estate and utilities 
personnel, and others interested in determining how to effectively deal with 
a variety of historic preservation requirements in Arizona.  The seminar 
will review various historic preservation statutes, rules and regulations 
that come into play in Arizona.  Participants will learn the jargon of the 
historic preservation community, learn how to hire a professional 
archaeologist or historic preservation specialist, learn what ot expect of a 
consultation and review process, and, discuss ways to assure quality work, 
full-compliance with the law, and, the timely completion of an 
archaeological excavation or historic preservation undertaking prior to 
project or property development.  The seminar will be held in Mesa AZ on
