To All Southwestern Archaeology Enthusiasts:

We invite you to the 2007 Pecos Conference to be held at Pecos National Historical Park, New Mexico, August 9-12, 2007 This year the conference is sponsored by Pecos National Historical Park, with invaluable assistance from the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture/Laboratory of Anthropology; Intermountain Regional Office/Santa Fe (National Park Service); Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District (US Forest Service); State Historic Preservation Division (Office of Cultural Affairs-New Mexico); and the School for Advanced Research.

There are two ways to register for this year’s conference: there’s On-line Registration & Payment Link and there’s the traditional paper registration ( doc or pdf ).

Our purpose in hosting this year's conference is to provide an opportunity for archaeologists to identify and discuss the challenges of southwestern archaeology in an informal setting.

This year's Conference theme is Galisteo Basin Archeology. In addition to the traditional Pecos Conference presentations and activities, this year’s Conference will highlight current research and preservation efforts in the Galisteo Basin and northern Rio Grande. Two mini-symposia, a Friday evening lecture, and Sunday tours to several Galisteo Basin archeological sites will focus on the Galisteo. Register now and join us in exploring the Basin’s many mysteries!

Park Admission: If you have not pre-registered you must register at the conference site or at the Thursday evening reception before going to other destinations in the park.
