Reception ...
Thursday,
August 11 ( 6 pm to 8 pm )
The reception for the 2005 Pecos Conference will be
held at the Bandelier National Monument headquarters
building. This complex of stone buildings was constructed
in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corp.
Today, these remarkable buildings compose the largest,
most intact and best preserved CCC constructions and
are also listed as a National Historic Landmark district
( take a virtual
tour ).
Registered
Pecos conference attendees will be allowed free admission
to Bandelier for this day only. Please take advantage
of this offer. The National Park Service will also provide
non-alcoholic beverages during the reception.
Your
registration packets, t-shirts, coffee mugs and dinner
tickets will be available at the registration desk.
For those of you who have not pre-registered, you will
be able to register at this time.
Once we have collected as much money as we can, we encourage
you to visit the attractions of Bandelier National Monument.
Within the immediate area are interpretive trails to
ancestral Pueblo cliff villages, large surface pueblos
and rock art sites. We will also offer guided walks
through the CCC district. In addition, there is a visitor
center, a museum, which currently has exhibits on ancestral
Pueblo life and artifacts, and a gift shop too.
